Imran assails govt for not obeying SC verdicts

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Wednesday severally criticized the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) government for not obeying verdicts of the Supreme Court, DawnNews reported.

Speaking to media representatives, Khan said the government should give a valid reason for disobeying the apex court’s order of writing a letter to Swiss authorities.

He asserted that behaviours of the current rulers would dismantle the apex court and vowed that his party will stand by the judiciary if it was ‘attacked.’ “If there wasn’t a free judiciary, the corrupt leaders would have looted the entire country,” he added.

Khan said that the graft cases involve a huge amount of money and cannot be ignored.

Commending the judiciary, the PTI chief claimed that Pakistan is the only third-world country to have a free judiciary, adding that the people achieved this “blessing” after great struggle.

“No one will be allowed to play with democracy,” said the PTI chief.

Moreover, Khan also reiterated his resolve of taking the “peace convoy” to Waziristan.
