Medicine price hike

Published August 15, 2012

THE recent price hike of medicines has proved fatal. People are suffering because they cannot afford medicines. Prices of some medicines have increased almost hundred per cent. A syrup for controlling fever is being sold at Rs60 instead of Rs30.

Isn’t it the responsibility of state authorities to control this situation? I urge the government to control prices of medicines as health is a basic human right of every citizen.
