LAHORE, Dec 21: A fine unbeaten century by Aamir Sajjad helped Lahore Whites to an impressive 251 for six against Sheikhupura on the first day of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy National Cricket Championship Group-III encounter at Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday.
Sent into bat, Lahore Whites dominated thanks to Aamir’s 126 off 229 balls. He has so far struck 13 boundaries.
Mohammad Hussain was the other star for the home side with a knock of 51 off 96 deliveries that included seven hits to the fence.
Together with Aamir, Hussain put on 106 for the fifth wicket in 103 minutes.
Paceman Waqas Chughtai took three for 67 while Sheikhupura skipper Saleem Mughal chipped in with two for 30 with his part-time off-spinners.
An unbeaten 89 by left-hander Naseem Khan put Pakistan Customs in a strong position against Habib Bank at Lahore Country Club in Muridke.
Customs were 264 for eight at stumps. Test discard Shadab Kabir also excelled by making 44.
At Sialkot’s Saga Ground, Gujranwala, propelled by half-centuries from Kamran Younis (61) and Iftikhar Ahmed (51), made 280 in their first innings against the home side.
Sialkot were two without loss when the stumps were drawn.
Leg-spinner Imran Tahir was Sialkot’s best bowler with figures of five for 88.
