Officials said a remote-controlled explosive device planted along the main road in the Khwaja Kher area of Frontier Region Bannu went off when a convoy going to Razmak sub-division in North Waziristan reached there.

Three soldiers suffered injuries and their vehicle was damaged. Security forces cordoned off the area and carried out a search operation.

In the other incident, a vehicle was hit by a bomb when the convoy reached Khajori checkpost near Mirali, injuring two soldiers. The political administration imposed a curfew in the area after the blast.

AFP adds: Security officials said the bomb attack near Mirali left three troops dead.

“Three soldiers were killed and three were wounded in the blast. Their vehicle was completely destroyed,” a senior security official based in Peshawar told AFP.
