NOWSHERA, Aug 11: A local leader of the ruling Awami National Party and his nephew were shot dead by their rivals over a petty issue here on Saturday, police said.

Police said that vice president of Awami National Party in Tappa Bara Banda Mir Bahader and his nephew Nizakat were killed allegedly by their rival Mohammad Ayaz.

They said that the deceased were going from Bara Banda to Risaplur on a motorcycle when they were attacked.

Police said that the bodies of both the deceased persons were brought to District Headquarters Hospital Nowshera for autopsy.

Risalpur police registered a case agianst the alleged killer and started investigation.
