Co-operative societies

Published August 12, 2012

I AM a retired government teacher of 70 years. Thirty years ago I became a member of the Sindh Government Employees’ Society.

They allotted me a plot of 240 square feet in Scheme 33. But afterwards they cancelled it without any notice.

The registrar of the co-operative society gave a decision in my favour, but the society filed an appeal against the decision of the registrar with the minister responsible for co-operative societies.

Now for more than three years the Sindh chief minister has been holding the charge, and only he has the power to hear the case.

But he has not heard a single one though 100 cases are pending. The society has earned a notoriety.

In Sindh, there are six ministers who do not have any portfolio.

Why cannot the chief minister give one of them the charge of the co-operative societies?
