LAHORE, Dec 21: The legislation prepared by the federal government regarding cigarettes, milk and safe blood has been returned by the law and justice division with the comment that these are provincial subjects.

Federal health secretary Ejaz Rahim made this statement while talking to Dawn after the concluding session of a conference on “Population and sustainable development in Pakistan” at the Punjab University on Saturday.

Mr Rahim said he would now request the provinces to prepare and implement legislation on these issues. — Reporter
