Chaudhry Nisar responsible for military takeover in 1999: Hashmi

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf President Makhdoom Javed Hashmi has said that Chaudhry Nisar was responsible for the military takeover in the country in 1999 while he himself was the biggest opponent of nuclear tests.

Addressing a press conference in Multan he said the PML-N is a party dominated by those who had left the party in murky waters.

He said that Nisar was one of eight people along with Khawaja Asif, Ishaq Dar and Pervez Rashid who sought pardon from the military regime.

Challenging Nisar, he said he should sit with him, if he has any courage and answer his questions. According to the PTI president, Nisar was also responsible for the confrontation between former Army Chief Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Criticizing the PML-N leader, Hashmi told journalists he opposed atomic tests in 1998 and was propagating against Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf to earn space for himself.

Coming down upon PML-N chief Hashmi questioned why Nawaz Sharif was silent over 11 questions raised by PTI chief Imran Khan.

He said, Nisar should address the nation about his own personal assets and dual nationality if has guts.

Javed Hashmi said that PML-N is scattering as people have started quitting the party.

He warned Chaudhry Nisar that his party would not find even suitable candidates in Southern Punjab in the upcoming general elections in the country.

Answering a question, Hashmi told journalists PML-N had tried at least six times to curtail the powers of the judiciary when it was in power.
