No knowledge about 'missing' persons, ISI tells SHC

KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC), hearing the case pertaining to the‘missing’ persons on Thursday, issued contempt of court notices to the police officials. The Inter Service Intelligence (ISI) presented an affidavit in the SHC saying that it had no knowledge about the ‘missing’ persons, DawnNews reported.

SHC’s two-member bench heard the case of the missing persons including Qari Haq Nawaz.

The SHC directed the Inspector General (IG) Sindh Police to take personal interest in the case.

The court also directed the authorities to contact the telecom operators for the call records of the ‘missing’ persons.

The SHC issued a contempt of court notice to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Special Investigation Unit (SIU).

The hearing was subsequently adjourned till August 20.

Earlier, the Hyderabad circuit bench of SHC had directed the Sindh home secretary and DIG Hyderabad Sanaullah Abbasi to appear before the court in the event of failure to find a missing person by Aug 8.
