MQM invites PTI to APC

LAHORE: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has invited the Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) to its proposed All Parties Conference (APC). However, the PTI says that the party will take a decision after consultations with its top leadership, DawnNews reported.

A delegation of the MQM met PTI president Javed Hashmi and Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi in Lahore on Tuesday.

Speaking to media representatives after the meeting, Farooq Sattar, Deputy Convener of the MQM, said that Pakistan is currently facing internal as well as external threats. Sattar said the objective of meeting with all political parties was to bring them together for the proposed All Parties Conference to solve the countries problems.

Hashmi said that a shadow of fear had engulfed the nation, adding the PTI would contest the elections alone; however, they are prepared for talks with other political parties to rescue the country from the pending crisis.

Speaking on the occasion, PTI vice chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that he welcomed the fact that a coalition partner of the government was concerned about the country’s problems.

The MQM delegation also invited PTI chief Imran Khan and party members to visit Nine Zero, the MQM head offices in Karachi. The PTI said it would also convey the invitation to the top leadership.
