HYDERABAD, Aug 6: The senior vice president of the Sindh United Party, Shah Mohammad Shah, has said the party’s alliance with PML-N is issue-specific and ruled out break-up of the Sindh Progressive Nationalist Alliance because of the alliance.

Talking to journalists at an Iftar party here on Monday, Mr Shah said the SPNA was here to stay.

“Things are normal within the SPNA…I have spoken to Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party leader Dr Qadir Magsi as well because we have taken up the issue of dialogue with PML-N,” he said.

The SUP would attend meeting of the SPNA whenever convened, he added.

“The SUP has told the PML-N leadership that division of Punjab can be discussed, but no such thing can be considered for Sindh,” Shah Mohammad Shah said.

The SUP had discussed with the PML-N issues concerning Sindh like water, NFC award and autonomy, he added.

He said SUP had made it clear to the PML-N that it was not satisfied with the 18th Constitutional Amendment and wanted more powers for the provinces.

“We have raised implementation of the 1991 water accord and more financial resources under NFC.”

The SUP leader urged the Chief Election Commissioner to pay attention to electoral rolls. “Around 30 million bogus voters were registered in the country before 2008 general election on the basis of which the present government was formed. These voters were enrolled without NIC,” he said.

In the current voters’ lists, different voter trend emerged for Latifabad and Qasimabad, he said, adding that in Latifabad, number of voters had risen while in Qasimabad it had fallen.

In Jamshoro, the native district of SUP president Syed Jalal Mehmood Shah, 120,000 votes were bogus, he alleged.
