RAWALPINDI, Dec 20: The judicial magistrate, Mohammad Hasnain Qadar Ghillo, on Friday remanded a woman in police custody for defrauding a person of Rs1.5 million.

The Lahore High Court, Rawalpindi bench, had rejected the bail application of the accused, two days back.

According to New Town police, Uzma, 35, was accused of promising a 60-years old man, Hafeez Khokar, that she would marry him provided the later buys her income certificates worth Rs1.5 million. Mr Khokar gave her the certificates in March 2002 but the accused neither married him nor returned his money.

BAIL ACCEPTED: Anti-corruption court judge, Mohammad Aslam Khan, accepted the bail application of a forger - who had masterminded the death certificate of his living brother and sold property of the later by conspiring with some officials - for hearing on January 2, 2003.
