ISLAMABAD: The decision to set different electricity tariffs creates the loss of at least Rs50 billion to the government.

The report has been submitted to the Ministry of Finance. It says that at least Rs50 billion a year losses are incurred due to the different tariffs of electricity imposed by the government from day to night.

The major losses belonged to industrial and cellular companies. The report says that the government set a 50 per cent increase in the electricity tariff at night as compared to the day.

The report also tells that major subscribers switch from grid to generators at evening.
