ISLAMABAD, Dec 20: The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) have engaged a former director of model colleges in various official assignments, who was suspended on charges of misusing official powers and tampering with ACRs, sources said.
The associate professor, Wajid Nawaz, after the initiation of an inquiry against him, had been transferred to Islamabad College for Boys G-6/3.
However, instead of performing his duties there, he had been asked by the directorate to look after the court cases related to model colleges wing.
The college principal, Rafique Malik, said “Mr Wajid is on leave.”
The sources said Ms Samina had officially replaced Mr Wajid but in reality the former director was still in charge of the office.
One of the latest official duties assigned to the suspended official is that he has been made member of the penal, formed by the Federal Public Service Commission ( FPSC), to conduct interviews for the recruitment of lecturers.
The FPSC director, Abdullah Khan Mirza, told this reporter that the commission had asked the FDE to recommend teachers of repute to conduct interviews for the recruitments.”
“It depends upon the department whether it sends an honest man or someone else,” he said.
Prof Rafique Tahir, the chief coordinator training and FDE spokesperson, said though an inquiry was pending against the former director for the last six months, he was still full- fledged associate professor and the directorate could ask him to perform certain duties.
