ISLAMABAD, Dec 20: The government intends to send religious scholars and students from different Madaris to Al-Azher University of Egypt to keep them abreast of latest developments in Islamic studies.
The government’s intention was made known by Federal Education Minister Mrs Zobaida Jalal during her meeting with Egyptian ambassador Hisham El-Zimaity here on Friday.
It has been the desire of the government and the scholars of the Madaris to have a first-hand knowledge of Islamic teachings and code of life at one of the most reputable and renowned seats of Islamic learning and teaching of the world.
She said a representative of the education ministry would soon visit Egypt to hold a discussion with the Egyptian education ministry in this regard. She expressed her confidence that the Egyptian government would extend all possible support to her ministry to get the job done.
She said about 50 teachers from Al-Azher University would visit different districts of Pakistan to help the students read and understand the Holy Quran that might also bring drastic changes in the life of the students.
During the meeting, she explained that education was one of the priorities of the government and her ministry was putting in their best efforts to achieve the desired targets.
