PESHAWAR, Dec 19: The NWFP Minister for Science & Technology and Information Technology, Hussain Ahmed Kanju, has said that the framework of the newly-created Science & Technology and Information Technology Department has been finalized and would formally started functioning within a month.
He further said that with its commissioning, petty problems related to this sector would automatically be solved.
This he said during his visit to the IT Park at Hayatabad, Peshawar, on Wednesday evening.
Dr Lutfullah Khan, a former advisor to the NWFP governor for information technology was also with him.
The minister, on this occasion, was briefed on the activities and other facilities provided in the park. He inspected various sections and services provided there.
Speaking on the occasion, Kanju said that the promotion of IT was a must for a prosperous Pakistan.
All government departments would be computerized and linked with internet to improve the working of government departments.
Referring to the demands and problems being faced in the IT Park, Kanju said that its problems relating to building rent, power tariff etc solved soon. —PPI
