SAHIWAL, July 21: The district government has set up six model and Ramazan bazaars and 35 fair-price shops in urban and rural localities.

Consumers will get Rs10-20 off on grocery, fruits and vegetables. As many as 25 magistrates will keep an eye on prices of commodities.

The district administration had organised a one-day training workshop for the magistrates at the District Council to brief them on their responsibilities. The magistrates have been empowered to conduct raids at sale points.

Besides, nineteen ‘dastarkhwans’ have been arranged at different localities for Iftaar. These have been arranged by the TMA with the help of philanthropists. These facilities will be set up at TB Complex, village 89/6-R, TMA Lawn, Small Industrial Estate, Jahaz Ground, Ghausia Mosque, Farid Town, Pir Bukhari graveyard, Model Bazaar, Bismil Cotton Factory, TMA Chichawatni Lawn, Chaudhry Flour Mills, Model Industry, DHQ Hospital, Union Soap Factory, Supreme House, Haji Wali Chowk and Bismila Traders, Ghala Mandi. —Correspondent
