KARACHI: Pakistan’s skeet shooting star Khurram Inam, who is on the verge of creating history with his third Olympic appearance later this month, is focusing hard to produce his best in the London Games to bring glory and honour for his country.

“It is a great honour for me to become the first Pakistan shooter to feature in the Olympics,” he said in an interview on Friday. “It is my dream to become the first Pakistan shooter to win an Olympic medal, but I am not aiming too high as I have to be realistic.

“I am looking for respectable scores and to do my best there.”

Veteran shooter and South Asian record holder Khurram, made his debut in 2000 Sydney Olympics and also featured at the Athens Olympics in 2004. However, he missed the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Khurram achieved the score of 119/125 in Sydney and 114/125 in Athens. “My best score in South Asian shooting was 123/125 and I am looking to improve it,” said Khurram who has featured in over a dozen World Cups in nearly 20 years.

He will be leaving for London on July 24.—APP
