Earthquake measuring 5.7 jolts parts of northern Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: A moderate earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale jolted several parts of the country on Thursday including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Swat, North Waziristan, Nowshera and Abbottabad.

The quake was recorded at 5.7 magnitude on the Richter scale, and its epicentre was in Koh Hindukush, according to met office.

The tremor, which was felt in several parts in the country, reportedly caused no loss of life and property.

Owing to the tremor, which lasted for a few seconds, people rushed out of their apartment and office buildings amid fear and panic.
