Violence in Karachi claims 12 more lives

KARACHI: The menace of targeted killings and violence remained relentless in Karachi as it took 12 more lives and injured as many on Wednesday, DawnNews reported.

At least two people were injured in a bomb blast in Buffer Zone locality in the evening. The injured were being shifted to a nearby hospital.

The law enforcing agencies also came under attack as unidentified miscreants attacked police in Pak Colony, killing one official.

Two people were reported to be injured by sporadic firing in Gulbahar.

One was killed and two got injured amid firing at a sweet’s shop in Mominabad area.

A political worker was killed in New Karachi while three dead bodies were recovered from Malir River, Manghopir area and Risala. Torture marks were also found on bodies.

Forty-two-year old Yawar Mehdi was killed in Gol Market, Nazimabad.

Meanwhile, Ahtesham, who got injured by firing, succumbed to his injuries in a local hospital. A man, identified as Mohammad Arsalan, was killed in Khokarapar, Malir.

Moreover, police had arrested Munawar alias Mannu from Alfalah, Azeempura. The suspect was wanted for murder of five people. Police claims that the arrested also has political affiliation.

Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan, by taking notice of Buffer Zone blast, ordered a quick inquiry report into the incident from the concerned departments.
