IT is sad to read the news that a historical house in Mirpurkhas is being demolished by its owners. Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah stayed in the house on Dec 28, 1943.

It is spread over an area of 3,200 square feet and was declared an evacuee property. It was also divided into four portions.

The Government of Sindh should take immediate action by taking possession of the house. It should be renovated and made into a museum for the general public. All those houses where our national leaders stayed should be taken by the government and declared heritage sites.

I hope that some NGO would also take the steps and save the house from being demolished.
