ISLAMABAD: Arsalan Iftikhar, son of Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry, filed a petition in the Supreme Court on Friday to review the court’s decision in the suo motu notice pertaining to allegations against him, DawnNews reported.

Arsalan’s attorney Sardar Ishaque filed a petition in the apex court.

The petition showed Arsalan’s mistrust on Attorney General Irfan Qadir and on the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) investigation team.

Earlier the apex court had asked the attorney general to handle the controversy revolving around allegations of a business deal between real estate tycoon Malik Riaz and Dr Arsalan Iftikhar.

“The attorney general has misinterpreted the court’s verdict and the team formed by the NAB is illegal,” the petition stated.

“The chief of investigation team Kausar Iqbal has a shady past and he lives in Bahria Town…the Superintendent Police of Islamabad, who is also part of the team, was a close associate of Malik Riaz,” the petition added.

Arsalan has requested the court to form a judicial commission to hear the case.
