LAHORE, Dec 16: The Kashmir Action Committee Pakistan has rejected the India and Russia joint declaration and described it an attempt to mislead the world about the freedom struggle of the people of Kashmir.
A KACP working committee meeting which was presided over by Dr Muzaffar Shah here on Monday adopted a resolution saying that the declaration was aimed at putting pressure on Pakistan to stop its political, moral and diplomatic support to the Kashmiris in their freedom struggle.
The committee regretted that Pakistan had consistently sought friendly relations with Russia which had committed an unfriendly act by signing the declaration with India against Pakistan’s interests. As a founding member of the UN, Russia knew the nature of the Kashmir freedom struggle and how India had been defying the UN resolutions which were passed with the consent of Russia as a permanent member of the UN Security Council.
The resolution also condemned the threatening utterances and accusations of Indian premier Vajpayee and deputy prime minister L. K. Advani against Pakistan for what they called ‘cross-border terrorism’ in Kashmir.
