LAHORE, July 9: Two persons were killed and another injured when they suffered electric shocks in different incidents in the city on Monday.
Asif Akbar, 28, received a shock in Charrar village in J-Block of the Defence Housing Authority while Muhammad Sharif, 35, suffered a fatal shock in Valencia Town.Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
Amin, 35, received burns due to an electric shock at Kachi Kothi Stop, Raiwind Road, and was admitted to Jinnah Hospital.
looted: Robbers shot at and injured a security guard and looted cash and valuables worth Rs2.3 million in four hits in the city on Monday.
Two armed men approached security guard Amanat in Hadiara police limits and snatched his weapon and a cell phone. When Amanat offered resistance, the suspects shot at and injured him.
Four robbers barged in the house of Fiaz in Mughalpura police limits and took away cash and valuables worth Rs800,000.Some robbers stormed into the house of Aamir in Ravi Road police limits and took away cash and valuables worth Rs600,000.
Some gun-toting men burst into the house of Saqib in Model Town police limits and escaped after looting cash and valuables worth Rs500,000.
Some robbers sneaked into the house of Majeed in Bhati Gate police limits and made off with cash and valuables worth Rs400,000.
STABBED: A 45-year-old tailor was found stabbed at his shop in Moon Market of Iqbal Town on Monday.
Police said Shabbir of New Samanabad stayed at his shop at night. On Monday noon, his pupils turned at the shop to find him lying dead with multiple wounds on his body.
The shop was found locked from outside.
They alerted the police who shifted the body for autopsy.
INJURED: An 80-year-old woman was critically injured after she was hit by a moving train at the city railway station on Monday.
Rescue 1122 shifted Noori, wife of Bashir, to Mayo Hospital.
ARRESTED: Sabzazar police claimed on Monday to have arrested a drug peddler and seized 1.02kg hashish from him.
A police team, constituted by the Sadar SP (operations), acted on a tip-off and took Rafique of Mohalla Shah Farid, Multan Road, into custody.
A case was registered against the suspect.
roof collapse: A 30-year-old woman suffered injuries after the wooden roof of her house caved in near Baghbanpura telephone exchange on Monday.
Rescue 1122 shifted Shaista, wife of Raza Ali, to Kot Khwaja Saeed Hospital.
