Railways refuses to transport Nato goods

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Railways has refused to facilitate in transportation of Nato supplies, citing a shortage of locomotives as the reason.

Minister for Railways Haji Ghulam Ahmed Bilour on Friday categorically said that Pakistan Railways was not providing any transportation service to Nato.

The minister said: “We are already short of locomotives to meet the local freight requirements and how we can give this facility to Nato.”

He rejected a news item appearing in a section of the press regarding provision of three routes for transportation of Nato goods.

“We have no such information and the news published in a section of the press is baseless and has no reality,” the minister said in a press release issued here.
