MARDAN, Dec 15: Vice president of NWFP PPP, Farooq Khan Hoti has said that the party would be reorganized in the wake of its weak performance in the recent elections.

Speaking at a press conference here on Sunday, Farooq said that the workers would be mobilized and the party would be reorganized on sound democratic lines in the province.

The PPP leader said that those party workers and leaders who violated the party discipline and its manifesto would be taken to task. Such elements who created a rift in the party would not be tolerated, he added.

About the PPP’s strategy regarding the MMA government in the province, Farooq said that his party would stage protest demonstrations if the MMA failed to keep its promises made during electioneering.

Regarding the PPP MPAs’ support to the Sherpao group against the MMA candidates in the elections for speaker and deputy speaker in the NWFP Assembly, Farooq said that the party legislators had the blessing of the party high command in this regard. He denied any differences in the party over the issue.

He demanded of the MMA government to enforce Shariat in the province and eliminate the unjust property tax to relieve the common man of the burden of taxes.

Farooq Hoti said that as the religious parties alliance enjoyed a powerful mandate, its government must take up the issues of provincial autonomy and electricity royalty with the federal government.
