According to local media reports, 150 child labourers, found in squalid living and working conditions, were rescued from several embroidery factories and sent to transit centres before being returned to their respective families. Over 80 embroidery factories are located in the Kathmandu Valley where more than 500 children, mostly below 14 years of age, are employed, according to a researcher at Child Development Society (CDS). – Photos and text by Reuters
