Pakistan through the lens of camera

ISLAMABAD, July 3: A photographic exhibition has been organised at National Heritage Museum at Garden Avenue, Shakarparian under the aegis of Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) in collaboration with Lok Virsa, Islamabad.

The opening ceremony was performed by the Rawalpindi Commissioner, Imdadullah Bosal, who was chief gust at the ceremony. Managing director TDCP Habibur Rehman Gilani and Lok Virsa’s executive director Khalid Javaid were also present on the occasion.

The exhibition presents works of two students, Ubaidur Rehman and Naeem Jatoi from National College of Arts, Lahore. They undertook an extensive tour of entire Pakistan in four months in cooperation with TDCP to capture scenic beauty, national monuments and cultures of different areas through the lens of camera.

Talking to media, chief guest Commissioner Rawalpindi Imdadullah Bosal said: “Youth is considered as backbone in any society and efforts of these young students are praiseworthy. We can promote our tourism by highlighting various aspects and colours of our diverse and beautiful culture”.

Lok Virsa’s executive director Khalid Javaid said: “Lok Virsa’s major focus is currently on youth who is future of Pakistan. We are taking a number of initiatives under our ongoing museum educational programme and popular slogan ‘harnessing culture for education’ with a view to inculcate awareness among younger generation about their indigenous traditional culture and folk heritage”. The exhibition will continue till 5th July at Lok Virsa Heritage Museum.
