LAHORE, July 3: The Punjab government is spending Rs250 million on establishing hostels for working women at tehsil level and another Rs100 million for daycare centres for their children.

This was stated by Planning and Development Board Chief Economist Arif Anwar Baloch at the concluding ceremony of a two-day workshop on “Gender responsive budgeting” at Bhurban, says a release issued here on Tuesday.

Mr Baloch said the provincial government was paying special attention towards women development and Rs4.5 billion had been earmarked for mother and child healthcare.

He said buses were being provided to girl colleges at a cost of Rs1 billion across the province.

Later, certificates were given away to the participants.
