THIS is with reference to your editorial entitled ‘No respite’ (June 29). It is a question of principle, not expediency.
The president of Pakistan cannot involve himself in partisan political activities as co-chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party. It is against the spirit of the 1973 Constitution.
President Zardari should announce his resignation from his position as co-chairman of the PPP by September 5 as suggested by the Supreme Court. No ifs and buts please!
