Cops penalised for negligence

ATTOCK, June 29:  The District Police Officer Hilal Khan dismissed four police constables from their service and also ordered forfeiture of two-year service for former SHO Basal police station here the other day.

The cops were reprimanded for serious misconduct and showing negligence in performing their duties.

The district police headquarters said here that DPO has sacked four police cops including Wajahat Khan, Jabir Khan and Tahir Mehboob on remaining absent from their duty despite sending them frequent reminders and notices. Similarly, former SHO Basal police station Inspector Walayat Hussain lost two-year service on misconduct. — Correspondent

Drug pushers held

ATTOCK, June 29: Police arrested two women and two men and seized 4.3 kg narcotics in raids conducted at different places in the district to curb drug trafficking.

Police claimed here on Friday that Attock Khurd police seized 2.2 kg hashish from two female drug smugglers, during checking of a vehicle at a check post on main G.T. Road.

Similarly, Pindigheb police claimed to have recovered 1.1 kg hashish from N.K. during routine checking.

New Airport police Fatehjang also claimed to arrest a drug pusher A.A for possessing 1,050 gram hashish.

OUTLAWS HELD: The district police claimed to nab 20 outlaws along with recovery of weapons and narcotics from them in separate strikes. Police registered cases against all the accused. — Correspondent

Farmer injured

ATTOCK, June 29: A farmer was allegedly attacked by a village fellow over tree-cutting dispute.

Police said that a peasant, Azeem Khan, a resident of Akhori Village reported to Attock sadder police station that he was attacked by a fellow villager, M.B., when he tried to stop him from cutting trees in his agricultural land.

As a result, he sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the District Headquarters (DHQ) hospital for treatment. Police registered a case against the accused and were investigating. — Correspondent
