SC orders suspension of GB's police chief

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court while hearing the Hajj corruption case on Thursday ordered suspension of  Inspector General (IG) Gilgit Baltistan Hussain Asghar over not appearing before the apex court, DawnNews reported.

A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heard the case.

The bench showed its displeasure over the absence of Asghar, who was designated to investigate the case.

The bench directed the Attorney General to make sure that court’s orders get implemented and directed the AG to present a report regarding Asghar suspension the next day.

The hearing of the case was subsequently adjourned till Friday .
