Two bodies found
ATTOCK, June 27: Two unidentified bodies were recovered by Attock police from different areas of the district.
Police said body of a young man was recovered on the information of some locals near the Indus River in limits of Rangu police station on Tuesday night that was later shifted to THQ hospital Hazro for postmortem.
In the preliminary investigation, it was revealed by police that the deceased person was killed by some unknown persons few days ago who had then thrown the body in the river to hide their crime.
Similarly, Pindigheb police also recovered the body of a man in his 50s from Shehbaz Pur village that was found hanging from a tree. After postmortem, it was handed over to the tehsil municipal administration (TMA) for burial. Separate murder cases were registered by the respective police stations.—Correspondent
RTMA budget approved
RAWALPINDI, June 27: The Rawal Town administrator, Saif Anwar Jappa, on Wednesday gave approval to the annual budget for the fiscal 2012-13 with total outlay of Rs1.19 billion.
Town Officer, Finance and Planning, Raja Iftikhar, presented the budget documents to the administrator who signed and approved them.
Rs335.738 million has been allocated for non-development expenditures including Rs130 million for electricity charges.
Development projects have earned lion’s share of Rs815 million and Rs31 million have been allocated for Citizen Community Boards and Rs40 million for the purchase of officers’ cars.
Rs30 million will be utilised for construction of shops at RTMA shops, Rs5 million for the improvement of streetlights and Rs4 million for the repair of roads and streets.
While talking to newsmen, Rawal Town Administrator Saif Anwar Jappa said that the development schemes would be launched on the recommendations of members of parliament and local residents. —A Reporter
Bio diesel
ISLAMABAD, June 27: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rehman on Wednesday disposed of a public interest petition seeking directions for the government to promote cultivation of ‘Jatropha Curcas’ plant for the production of bio diesel in the country.
The IHC chief justice while disposing of the petition directed the respondent government authorities to consider suggestions of the petitioner.—A Reporter
