Taxila, June 24: Residents of Munir Abad, Sharif Hospital and surrounding areas of Wah Cantonment complained on Sunday they were worst hit by shortage of water.

People living in Munir Abad area have to fetch water for drinking and other household purposes from far-flung areas. Resultantly, they are forced to hire tanker-service whose rates have also soared sky-high.

A resident told Dawn one tanker was being supplied for Rs1, 000 to Rs1, 500 that was out-of-reach for many. They have demanded the local government and administration should provide them with uninterrupted supply of water.
