Six to 10 troops die in Afghan militant raid

PESHAWAR, June 24: Between six and 10 security personnel were killed when they came under attack from Afghan militants in Upper Dir area on Sunday.

According to TV reports, a security team was patrolling along the border when the militants crossed the border and attacked them. Some reports said that six security personnel went missing after the incident. Other reports put the number of soldiers killed at 10.

Pakistani security forces retaliated and killed 15 militants.

According DawnNews channel, the security team had been dispatched after reports about militants’ presence in the area.Other reports said that at least 10 militants were killed in the clash.
