DADU, Dec 14: Students of the Government Degree Boys’ College, Dadu, staged a demonstration outside the local press club on Saturday against rise in the fees.

Taking to journalists, the students complained that the administration of the college was collecting double fees on examination and admission forms.

KILLED: A school teacher, Khan Mohammad Chandio, was shot dead by three unidentified armed men at Thariri Mohabbat-Mehar road, near the Hazur Khan Mugheri village, on Saturday.

The Thariri Mohabbat police have registered an FIR against three unidentified men.

As the news of the incident reached Mehar, students boycotted classes to protest against the killing of the teacher.

They demanded immediate arrest of the killers.

HESCO DUES: The, DCO, Dadu, Allah Ditto Shar, has directed the district officers to pay Hesco dues before Dec 31, warning otherwise their power connections will be disconnected.

Speaking at a meeting of Hesco officials and the EDOs of different government departments at his office here on Saturday, the DCO said that Hesco had claimed Rs70 million dues against the government departments of the district.

He advised Hesco officers to change defective meters of government connections and install new meters in a week.

The EDO, health, Dr Khadim Hussain Lakhair, told the meeting that some unidentified people had removed meters of basic health units and government dispensaries in the drought- affected and far flung areas of the district.

He said that a number of health care centres were running without electricity.
