Charlemagne Prize for Giscard

AACHEN (Germany), Dec 14: Former French president Valery Giscard d’Estaing will receive Germany’s Charlemagne Prize for 2003, the jury said on Saturday.

The prize is awarded by the German city of Aachen to a personality who has made an outstanding contribution to European unity. Giscard d’Estaing currently chairs the convention mapping out a strategic vision for the European Union.—AFP
