KARACHI, June 20: Football Club Rovers (Malir Cantt) and Gulshan-i-Ittehad won their matches in the All-Karachi Dr S.M.A. Shah Challenge Cup football tournament at Korangi Gymkhana Football Ground here on Wednesday.

FC Rovers edged out Korangi Gymkhana Football Club 1-0 with Hamza scoring for them in the fifth minute. Korangi Gymkhana tried their best to level the score. Their frontrunners Rehan Ansari and Faizan Waheed played well but could not score.

In the second match, Gulshan-i-Ittehad defeated tournament favorites Korangi Baloch 3-0 on penalties after the match remained goalless until the final whistle.

Later, Gulshan-i-Ittehad’s strikers Nadi Hussain, Mohammad Younis and Habibullah converted three penalty kicks while Korangi Baloch’s men couldn’t utilise any.—Sports Reporter
