ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan said on Wednesday that the solution to the country’s problem was fresh general elections, not the appointment of a new prime minister, DawnNews reported.

Khan said that the new prime minister will have to write a letter to the Swiss authorities to reopen money laundering case against President Asif Ali Zardari.

The PTI chief said that his party will certainly participate in the upcoming general elections.

He said that currently his priority was internal election within his party.

Earlier, the PTI chief had welcomed judgment of the Supreme Court disqualifying Yousuf Raza Gilani as prime minister.

Khan had described apex court’s judgment on Tuesday as “historic because it has demarcated limits of judicial and parliamentary authority. It will set a precedent that once superior judiciary has convicted someone, no non judicial forum can hold otherwise.
