LAHORE: While the home series against Australia which is likely to be played at neutral venues of the UAE in mid August, is around the corner, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is going at snail’s pace to make arrangements for the series.

Earlier, the PCB sent director international cricket Intikhab Alam to Malaysia and the UAE to select the best venue for Australia series, but sources told Dawn that PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf was not contented with Intikhab’s presentation over his trips to Malaysia and the UAE, prompting the chairman to send a four-member team to the UAE to finalise all arrangements for the series.

The four officials would leave for the UAE on Tuesday.

It is pertinent to mention that the team in question has only one member — Usman Wahla — who has experience of making arrangements.

The other three members are PCB chief financial officer Badar M. Khan, PCB director coordination Sajid Hameed and a legal expert. However, none has any expertise in this regard.
