Fauzia's death: FIA raids hospital, takes medical record in custody

KARACHI: On the instructions of Rehman Malik, advisor to the prime minister on Interior, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) raided Orthopedic Medical Institute (OMI) hospital on Monday and took medical records of recently deceased PPP leader Fauzia Wahab in their custody, DawnNews reported.

Two of the doctors have also been included in the investigations.

Malik announced to form an investigation committee comprising of senior doctors to ascertain whether her death was natural or due to alleged negligence of doctors.

Wahab was admitted in OMI hospital on May 27 due to her sudden illness. She was under treatment since then. She had undergone three operations in that time duration.

Muttaihida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Babar Ghouri had said that negligence of doctors resulted in Wahab’s death.

PPP leader Sharmila Farooqi said on Sunday that investigations of Wahab’s death should be made.
