NAROWAL, Dec 13: Five women were killed and as many passengers received serious injuries on Friday in an accident on the Narowal-Zafarwal Road.

A speeding wagon coming to Narowal from Zafarwal collided headon with an oncoming army truck near Dhabliwala village.

The impact was so severe that five women died on the spot. The five other passengers who sustained critical wounds were admitted to the DHQ Hospital, Narowal.

The dead were identified as Yasmin, Maqsooda (Nonar village), Surraya Bibi (Natt village) and Nabila Kausar (Cheema village) and an unidentified elderly woman.

The injured were identified as Maqsood Butt, Kiran, Iftikhar, Tanzeela and Iftikhar Ali.
