Three die in accidents

LAHORE, June 10: Three people were killed in train and road accidents in the city on Sunday.

Batapur police said 15-year-old Bilal, of Lal Pul, was killed after being struck by a running train near Jallo Mor.

Quoting witnesses, police said the teenager was apparently crossing the track.

Manga Mandi police said 45-year-old Hafeezur Rehman was hit by a vehicle near Mandi bypass.

The driver fled the scene while the injured died at a nearby hospital. The victim, father of four, was a factory worker.

Shadbagh police said 50-year-old Amanat Khan, who was injured in a road accident two days ago, died at Mayo Hospital. The victim, father of three, was a Misri Shah resident.
