LAHORE: Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association has announced that petrol pumps will be shut from Monday. This was announced in response to the demands made by the CNG association not being met.

During a press conference in Lahore, Petroleum Dealers Association official Khawaja Atif said that they had also put forward their demands, which the government rejected.

He said that more than 50 per cent of their business is connected with CNG.

Putting an increase in tax on CNG will also affect their business, he said.

CNG Association Senior Vice Chairman Captain (R) Shuja Anwar said that Dr Asim Hussain was only given the responsibility of the Petroleum Ministry due to his friendship with President Zardari.

He said that they may call for a strike if their demands have not been met by Monday.
