KARACHI, June 5: A good all-round performance by promising Zakir Malik guided Nazimabad Gymkhana into the semi-finals of the KCCA Abdul Dyer Cup Inter-club cricket tournament at the RLCA Ground in Korangi here on Tuesday.Nazimabad Gymkhana defeated Malir Gymkhana by five wickets in the second quarter-final with Zakir playing a key role in their success.
Batting first, Malir Gymkhana were dismissed 172 in the 34th over with Mohammad Waqas making 35 and Azam Hussain 30. Zakir bagged three for 16 with his off-spinners with leg-spinner Junaid Naeem and slow left-armer Imran Ali giving excellent support by claiming two wickets apiece.
Zakir then struck six boundaries in scoring 50 as Nazimabad Gymkhana reached their target in the 28th over for the loss of five wickets.
