SINGAPORE: Pakistan State Oil (PSO) is seeking around half a million tonnes of fuel oil for July-September delivery, a tender document showed on Tuesday.
The state-owned company is looking to import 165,000 tonnes of low-sulphur fuel oil (LSFO) and 325,000 tonnes of high-sulphur fuel oil (HSFO).
One 55,000-tonne lot of LSFO is required for July-August, while another two 55,000-tonne parcels are for delivery in August-September.
A total of five 65,000-tonne cargoes are required, three for August and two for September delivery.
Bids for LSFO and HSFO are to be made on a cost-and-freight (C&F) basis to Karachi and Fauji Oil Terminal & Distribution (Fotco) respectively. The tender closes on June 19 and will remain valid till June 25.
PSO earlier bought 850,000 tonnes of fuel oil for May-June delivery. Fuel oil is used for power generation in Pakistan, where demand usually peaks during the summer.
The company also issued a tender to import 110,000 tonnes of gas oil for delivery over June-July, and 210,000 tonnes of gasoline for delivery over July-August, but it only purchased five out of six 35,000-tonne cargoes of gasoline.
