ISLAMABAD, June 2: Aqeel Khan and Yasir Khan bagged Vigo Champ Subh-e-Nau National Tennis 2012 men’s doubles title here at Islamabad Club on Saturday.

Despite losing the first set against M. Abid and his partner Usman Rafique, the Khan brothers played commanding tennis in the second set and in super tiebreak to clinch the title.

Saba Aziz reserved her berth for the title decider after beating Hania Naveed in an easy contest. Saba won this match in straight sets.

She will meet the winner of second semi-final between Sara Mansoor and her opponent Mehek Khokhar on Sunday at 5pm.

Talha Zubair of Navy reached boys U-18 final after beating Haseeb Yaqoob in an interesting contest.

Talha, who has shown his abilities on clay court in this event, defeated Haseeb without losing a single set.

He will meet Ahmed Babar of Lahore in the final, who defeated Arham Atique in the second semi-final.

Arham could not repeat his quarter-final performance in this match. Boys’ U-18 final will be played on Sunday at 9:00am.

Kashan-ul-Haq and Ahmed Babar stunned Mohammad Mudassar and his partner Arham Atique in the boys U-18 final.

The losing pair had won the first set and were 4-1 up in the second set when Kashan and his partner bounced back and won the second set 6-4 and the super tiebreak at 11-9.

Results:Men’s doubles (final): Aqeel Khan-Yasir Khan bt M. Abid-Usman Rafique 4-6, 6-2(10-6).

Ladies singles (semi-final): Saba Aziz bt Hania Naveed 6-0, 6-0.

Boys U-18 singles (semi-finals): Talha Zubair bt Haseeb Yaqoob 6-2, 7-6 (7-0); Ahmed Babar bt Arham Atique 6-2, 6-1.
