ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Friday said that the Pakistan Muslim League (N) should seek an apology from Speaker National Assembly for showing an undemocratic attitude during the budget speech in the National Assembly.

Talking to mediapersons outside the Parliament, he said their behavior during the budget speech of Finance Minister Dr Hafeez Sheikh was not good for democracy and democratic institutions.

He said that the methods the opposition adopted for conducting early elections, was not fair and added through such acts they would not succeed in their negative designs.

The minister said elections would be held in time and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) would emerge as victorious on the basis of its five years performance. He said the behaviour showed by PML-N in the Assembly is not liked by all.

He said Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has made history by signing a fifth consecutive budget by a democratic government.

Rehman Malik said people understand the negative tactics of PML-N leadership and would not come out on the streets as they know that PPP-led coalition government realises their problems which has provided relief to them in the budget.
