LAHORE, May 29: A jobless PPP worker who had earlier set his motorcycle on fire outside the Governor’s House to seek Latif Khosa’s help, on Tuesday burnt the furniture of his house to get the attention of MNA Faryal Talpur, sister of President Zardari.

Ms Talpur has been meeting party workers and listening to their problems for the last few days at the Governor’s House.

Muhammad Zaheer, a resident of Sanda, was earlier given an assurance by governor’s media adviser Tanvir Butt that Mr Khosa would help him out.

On Tuesday, Zaheer tried to enter the Governor’s House but the security personnel stopped him. Infuriated by the disrespect, he brought the furniture of his house and set fire to it.

Later, talking to the media, he said if the PPP leadership did not listen to his problems next time he would commit suicide there.

Zaheer, a father of five, said Tanvir Butt made a false promise to him on the governor’s behalf and he wanted Mr Khosa and Ms Talpur to personally listen to him.

He said he ran a small canteen at Hafeez Centre but he could not clear his financial liabilities, therefore his contract was cancelled and now he was jobless.
