COMING from Clifton Bridge, after refilling at the PSO petrol pump near Teen Talwar, I normally take the service road parallel to main Clifton road to take the left turn to Chartered Accountants Avenue.

What I found now on the service road are two ugly barriers, wall-to-wall, erected and closed for cars and pedestrians: one near Columbus Towers and the other at the edge of the road.

The half-awake nose-picking policeman at the barrier on the edge of the road said that some DC resides between the two barriers, therefore, public convenience is possibly the last thing on anybody’s mind. I protest on this latest encroachment.

It is disappointing to see a government official following bad examples by restricting access to the public. I request the authorities concerned to look into the matter.
